Master Darbar & Manmohan

“I am three times world champion, I am master printer, I am guru, I am artist, I am teacher”.  Master Darbar introduces himself (in English!) with much gusto and a twinkle in his eye that gives him away completely. His great passion in life is block printing. Now he spends his days creating patters “from his head”, teaching his beloved craft to Indian art students and facinated tourists at the Sakshi workshop in Sanganer.

 

His son Manmohan, brings new meaning to the word perfectionist. In a country that is so crazy and haphazard, Manmohan is a pint sized gem of order and efficiency and speaks at a million miles per hour. He is the unrivaled colour master, squatted over his bucket of colours with his mixing spoon adding drops of different pigments to achieve the perfect colour match!
